The Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center is pleased to announce the return of oil and acrylic
painting classes for ages 16 through adult, taught by instructor Matt Rogers, on Tuesday
evenings. Classes will begin on Tuesday, January 13, and will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for six
consecutive weeks.

FEBRUARY 13 & 14
At 6:30 p.m. on February 13th and 14th, ticket holders will gather at the historic Lucas Mansion for an unforgettable evening of masquerade, mystery, and intrigue. Guests are invited to don their most elegant and enigmatic masquerade attire, sharpen their detective instincts, and prepare to uncover the dark secrets hidden behind the masks.

MARCH 14
Young artists are encouraged to enter the Hiddenite Center’s Annual Youth Regional Art Competition. Youth entries will be featured in the Lucas Mansion Art Gallery during the month of March. An awards ceremony and reception will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 1pm. All entries must be submitted no later than 4 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Center’s Lucas Mansion.

APRIL 4
The Annual Adult Regional Artist Competition will be featured in the Lucas Mansion Art Gallery during the month of April. An awards ceremony and reception will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 1pm. The entry deadline is no later than 4pm on Thursday, March 19th at the Lucas Mansion.

MARCH 13
Join us on Friday, March 13th from 7 pm - 9 pm for an evening filled with Irish dance, music, and delectable food. A highlight of this program will be a performance by St. Joseph’s Irish Dancers, led by founder Meg Barrett. In addition to their dance performance, the dancers will serve as wait staff during the dinner portion of the event.

Open to students 5th grade through adult. Classes will take place from 4-5pm on Tuesdays at the Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex. "family style" learning atmosphere, in a jam setting with instruction in guitar & fiddle (loaner instruments available as supplies last..)
Join Sally Warren as she instructs pottery for all levels on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Center's Education Complex. Class takes place in a fully equipped pottery studio! Students of all levels enjoy creative freedom as Sally facilitates and teaches various pottery techniques. The Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center announces that its Emerging Artists Gallery for January and February 2026 will focus on Black History Month, celebrating the contributions of notable Black Americans with special emphasis on NASA astronaut and physicist Dr. Ronald E. McNair. The exhibit will also include selected figures from the All God’s Children collection, donated by the late Bonnie Miller of Statesville.

The Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center is thrilled to announce a special exhibition featuring the work of Alexander County artist, Theresa McDanel. The exhibit will run throughout January and February 2026 and will showcase McDanel’s vibrant acrylic paintings as well as cyanotype prints. Contents of this gallery will feature McDanel’s signature acrylic equine and landscape paintings. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to view her botanical cyanotype prints.
