Spanish & English Classes

The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is pleased to announce a new series of language classes beginning in July, offering opportunities for both Spanish and English language learners.

Classes will be taught by bilingual instructor Ahira Yanez and are designed to help participants

build confidence, improve communication skills, and gain a greater appreciation for language

and culture.

Threads of Tradition

July 27th

Community members are invited to loan aprons for this two-month exhibition in the Lucas Mansion Gallery. Both vintage and newly constructed aprons are welcome. Participants will be asked to provide a brief written history explaining the apron’s origin, materials, ownership through the years, and any significant stories associated with it.

Concert announcement for 'Summer on the Square' featuring local talent in Taylorsville on August 8th.

The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is excited to announce that its Summer on the Squareconcert will take place on Friday, August 8, 2026—and this year brings a fresh new twist focused on celebrating homegrown talent.


In a special effort to highlight the creativity within our own community, this year’s concert will showcase local performers from Alexander County.

Farm To Table Dinner

On Friday, September 25, the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will host the 2nd Annual Farm-to-Table Dinner on the grounds of the historic Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road). Set beneath the evening sky, this unique dining experience will feature a menu prepared with locally and regionally sourced ingredients, showcasing the farms, growers, and producers who help make our community so special.

Vendor Registration

Vendor spaces are currently available for artists, craftspeople, community organizations, food vendors, and other exhibitors whose products and displays complement the mission and atmosphere of the festival. Applications will be reviewed to ensure a diverse and high-quality event experience for attendees.

45th Celebration of the Arts

The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will host the 45th Annual Hiddenite Celebration of the Arts on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. along Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County.

Ongoing Classes

6-week Pottery Class

$65/$75 and $35 clay fee

Join Sally Warren as she instructs pottery for all levels on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Center's Education Complex.  Class takes place in a fully equipped pottery studio!  Students of all levels enjoy creative freedom as Sally facilitates and teaches various pottery techniques.  Please call the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center for start dates and class availability information 828-632-6966

Heritage Homeschool Classes

$90

The Basic Heritage Homeschool class will take place from September through May!  Parents remain with their children and play a special part in the learning experience.  The class series keeps the family at heart and is open to students from kindergarten through high school!

Emerging Artist - Britton Newland

We are excited to present the work of students in our pottery class.  Instructor:  Sally Warren


The art work will be on display from May - June 2026 on the second floor of The Lucas Mansion.

Exhibit featuring artist Dori Settles and her shoe-inspired artwork in The Lucas Mansion.

Main Gallery Artist - Dori Settles

Our main gallery features artwork from Dori Settles. She is a glass artist and the gallery features shoes made out of glass.


The gallery is located on the second floor of The Lucas Mansion in the Main Gallery and will be on display during the months of June/July.
