The Brushy Mountain Quilters Guild meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 3 PM at the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex. Occasionally, members will take off-site field trips. New members are encouraged to join the guild at any level of quilting ability. Interested parties are asked to call the Center at 828-632-6966 to learn more about this very special guild and to acquire their contact information.
Founded in 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit volunteer women's association that strives to promote historic preservation. A new chapter of the DAR, the "Carolina Emerald," is in the process of being formed in Alexander County! While business meetings are for members only, the chapter looks forward to holding public events with historical speakers and presentations at the Educational Complex! The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex is available for rent to groups or individuals as an excellent location to hold special events. The facility is accessible to all and boasts hardwood floors, a 222-seating capacity, air conditioning, a full-service kitchen, and convenient parking. How many will the complex seat?
The complex has a seating capacity of 222 (Auditorium style) and approximately 175 (comfortable dinner style). Round tables and 8'ft long tables are available.
What is the cost?
$100 per hour, minimum 3 hours - 45' x 75' multipurpose room. Note: There is an additional $125 set-up fee added to the rental fee. This covers the set-up of tables and chairs, breaking down the room after the event, and thoroughly cleaning it for the next use.
Classrooms for smaller functions are also available at a rate of $45 for three hours of use and $20 for each additional hour.
What type of kitchen facilities are available?
A full-service kitchen is available for use at an add-on fee of $150.
Is the facility wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all facilities are wheelchair accessible.
What about clean-up after our event?
Patrons are asked to leave the building as they found it. The Center will gladly set up tables and chairs IF the renter provides a diagram of how they wish the room set. Additional charges may result from excessive cleaning that must be performed following a use.
What is included in the rental?
The rental of the facility includes the use of tables and chairs. Use of the kitchen includes the use of equipment only.
What about security?
If the Center deems it necessary, renters will be required to hire security. The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will choose a firm at the expense of the renter. Failure to comply will result in the renter not being able to use the facility.
The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is a NON-SMOKING facility due to insurance regulations and for the health and safety of all of our patrons. The facility features a wooden, spring-hung floor which is great for dancing feet! Use our facility for family reunions, wedding receptions, parties, etc. Book early to ensure the availability of your chosen date.
Are there other rooms for rent?
Yes! We have an art room that is available for rent for $45 for 3 hours of usage (minimum). Our quilting room is also available for rent for $45 for 3 hours of use (minimum) as well. There is a $20 fee for each additional hour.

The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Lucas Mansion and Educational Complex are wheelchair accessible.
