Main Gallery Artist - Art Cozart "The Cup Guy and wife Nancy
ART COZART "THE CUP GUY" AND WIFE NANCY
The main gallery will feature Art Cozart "The Cup Guy" who reached notoriety drawing portraits on styrfoam cups. He drew these while working at the Charlotte airport during his breaks. There will be over 152+ cups on display.
Along with "The Cup Guy", his wife Nancy is an accomplished wildlife artist and photographer.
A public reception will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1-3PM in the Main Gallery.

Sports Exhibit August - October
“SPORTS PEOPLE PLAY” EXHIBIT AT THE LUCAS MANSION
Exhibit which will be on display in the South and West Galleries of the Lucas Mansion during the months of August, September, and October. The exhibit “Sports People Play” will feature items on loan from Alexander County Athletes.
Come by and see if you recognize anyone in the photos. There are pictures going back to the early 1900s featuring sports from Alexander County.

Emerging Artist Exhibiting now Diana Peeler
The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is pleased to welcome the quilling artwork of Diana Peeler, from Hickory, NC, on the 3rd floor Emerging Artist wing of the Lucas Mansion. The Center invites the public to visit for a first hand look at these amazing works of art by Peeler. Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. We look forward to your visit!
Line Dance Class w/ Donna & Craig begins 9/9/24 6:30-9:30pm
PAY THE DOOR $5. The weekly 3 hour program will focus on beginners during the first half of the class from 6:30-8:00 pm; and the second half from 8:00 pm-9:30 pm is for teaching dances to those who are ready to learn more.
Classes will begin September 9th at the Hiddenite Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Rd. Hiddenite, NC) with instructors Craig and Donna Statt who will lead all skill levels in the hottest country line dances. Doors open at 6:00pm. LEARN MORE!

A Spooktacular Tea for Children ages 2-7 Saturday, October 12th 11am-12:30
The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center will be hosting a Spooktacular Tea at the historic Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Rd, Hiddenite) on Saturday, October 12th from 11 am until 12:30 pm all for the “littles” ages 2-7! Children may dress in costumes and will enjoy storytime with Ms. Amy in the gazebo, a healthy lunch on the veranda, a scavenger hunt, prizes, and MORE! “Mummies” must stay with their “goblins”! (No fee for adults)

Photographers book Museum rooms for Christmas Minis Now!
HAHC is excited to offer this charming, historical venue to photographers for their Christmas mini photo shoots. Each available room of the Victorian Lucas Mansion will be fully decorated, seasonally adorned, and camera-ready to capture special moments! The cost of this opportunity is just $50 per hour and the following dates are available:

Bridgerton Brunch
Step into the Regency era Bridgerton-Inspired Brunch at the Lucas Mansion. This October 26th from 10am-noon , the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center invites you to experience the elegance and romance of the Regency era with a Bridgerton-themed brunch that promises to transport guests straight into the world of high society and courtly charm.

6-week Pottery Class
Pottery Class: Join Sally Warren as she instructs pottery for all levels on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Center's Education Complex. Class takes place in a fully equipped pottery studio! Students of all levels enjoy creative freedom as Sally facilitates and teaches various pottery techniques. JAM Kids Music Classes return!!!
Open to students 5th grade through adult beginning Tuesday, October 1st. Classes will take place from 4-5pm at the Hiddenite Center's Educational Complex. "family style" learning atmosphere, in a jam setting with instruction in guitar & fiddle (loaner instruments available as supplies last..)
5-week Arts & Crafts Class
After-School Arts & Crafts: Join instructor Vickie Hendren at the Educational Complex on Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 pm for a fun-filled class brimming with colorful arts & crafts activities perfect for elementary-aged children! Students will learn about the elements and principles of art while crafting and creating masterpieces! Register by Clicking on the link above or Call 828-632-6966. Heritage Homeschool Classes
SOLD OUT The Basic Heritage Homeschool class registration is open and will take place from September through May! Classes take place at the Educational Complex on the FIRST Wednesday of each month for new students beginning October 2nd from 10 am - noon. Parents remain with their children and play a special part in the learning experience. The class series keeps the family at heart and is open to students from kindergarten through high school!
